Quick Review: This book has been sitting on my bookshelf since senior year of high school. Somehow I never managed to get more than 50 pages through the book. This summer I finally decided to read it cover to cover and can say with confidence it’s one of the best business books I have read to date. Although it was written over 80 years ago, its principles and teachings are still relevant as ever. Dale Carnegie gives ample examples of everyday people and big shot business professionals to reinforce his “data-driven” claims. The claims made are derived from years of research by Carnegie and his assistant and are pulled from many of the most successful and recognized figures of his time. This book is often thought of as a business novel, however, it has many relevant lessons for everyday life and its teachings can be applied to romantic relationships, parenthood, friendships and more.
