Book Review – Hatching Twitter

Title: Hatching Twitter: A True Story of Money, Power, Friendship, and Betrayal

Author: Nick Bilton

Page Count: 299

Genre: Business/Entrepreneurship/Startup

Rating: 5/5

Quick Review: I’ve read the start-up stories of Apple, Amazon, Virgin Group, Airbnb, Uber, and Paypal. They were all fantastic reads that took a (auto)biographical approach, some of them were strictly biographies where the companies start was weaved in and out of the book. Hatching Twitter took a different approach and told the Twitter conception story from many different points of view and put the reader in the story, something I had not experienced in any of my previous reads. Nick Bolton takes an honest and comprehensive approach that may take a chapter or two to get used to but will make for a more entertaining read. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and it was fun to read about the creation of one of my favorite apps. This book could be read and enjoyed by anyone regardless of their interest in business, startups, or Twitter.
