Quick Review: I came across this book while I was studying abroad in Australia but didn’t want to shell out the money to buy it for retail. Rather, I waited until I arrived back in the States and got it for cheap from Amazon. It’s a quick read but it does offer some insightful provoking ideas that leave you mulling over how you want to proceed with (or start) your creative journey. Dan Norris emphasizes the relationship between creation and personal success (not necessarily monetary success). He continues by offering tips on how to overcome the little voice of ‘Hate’ (as he calls it) prohibiting you from creating to the capacity that you would like.
I enjoyed his emphasis on persistence in relation to creativity and success as well as his chapter on the relationship between consumption and creation and how many people so-called creative people have that relationship skewed. If you’re looking for a cheap and quick read to give you some much-needed motivation I would recommend picking up a copy of this book.
